Renewal reminders

Renewal reminders in time to compare, not after you’ve rolled over

Radar sends renewal reminders for car and home insurance, the MOT, energy tariffs, broadband and phone contracts, early enough to compare prices, and moves each one to next year when you mark it done.

£10 a month at the founding price until 31 March 2027, locked for 24 months. Your money back within 14 days if it isn’t for you.

Radar on a phone: the radar first.
The problem

Renewals roll over because nobody had the date

Insurance, broadband and energy deals tend to renew at a higher price unless you check. The renewal letter arrives, gets put somewhere safe, and the date passes.

The saving is in comparing a few weeks before. That needs the date, and a reminder that arrives while there is still time.

What Radar does

Every renewal, set up once

Radar asks

Life setup goes through car, home, money and documents a few questions at a time: when does the car insurance renew, when does the broadband contract end, when do the passports expire.

Reminded with time to act

Four weeks before an insurance renewal, six months before a mortgage deal ends, nine months before a passport expires. Change any of them.

Set once, every year

Mark it done and it moves to next year by itself. Not sure of a date? Radar adds a task to find it out.

On your phone

Reminders arrive as notifications, held quietly overnight, and in a Monday morning email of the week ahead.

How to

How to stop renewals rolling over at a higher price

Many contracts renew automatically, often at a higher price, unless you act first. The fix is a list of dates and a reminder with time to compare.

  • Gather the dates once: insurance schedules, the broadband and phone contracts, the energy tariff, the MOT certificate and the passports.
  • Set reminders three to four weeks ahead for insurance and contracts, and earlier for anything that takes time, like a passport or a mortgage deal.
  • When the reminder arrives, get one or two other quotes before calling the current provider.
  • Note the new date when you renew, so next year’s reminder is right.
  • Keep the list where you will see it, not in a drawer.

Radar asks for each date in Life setup, sets the reminder for you, and moves it on to next year when you mark it done. The free UK life-admin year does the asking without an account.

Getting going

Three steps

1

Start Life setup

An area at a time, over a coffee. Skip anything.

2

Give the dates you know

Radar works out the next one and sets the reminder.

3

Compare when it tells you

Mark it done, and it comes back next year.

Questions

Which renewals can Radar remind me about?

Car and home insurance, breakdown cover, car tax, the MOT, energy tariffs, broadband and phone contracts, the TV Licence, yearly subscriptions, passports, travel insurance and GHIC cards, and anything else you add.

Is there a free version?

The UK life-admin year is free: answer the same questions and get a calendar file and a PDF of your dates, with no account.

Do I need to connect anything?

No. Renewals work with no connections at all. Connecting a calendar adds your week beside them.
